Mike Phelps Bong Picture

Wow so what does this mean?? Initially nothing..well that is until Mike himself actually came out an apologized for this photo. Personally I think he would have done better with a no comment, but I admire him for stepping up and admitting to smoking.

At the end of the day i still see Mike Phelps as an American Hero, an inspiration to youth everywhere and more than anything else a great human being....we all make mistakes. One day when marijuana is legalized we will all look back at this and either laugh or shake our heads at how he is being ridiculously criticized.

GO MIKE PHELPS WE LOVE YOUUUUU!!!!!!

Talk to you soon!!!

  1. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that Michael Phelps has done wrong is apologize. I don't think the point is that he broke the law; I think that this is just the latest event to raise the question of why it's still illegal in the first place. We have a kid who shattered multiple records and won historic victories, as well as a man who has become the first black president of the United States; as far as I can tell, the only thing they have in common is pot!!

  2. I agree with the king! If he'd been seen holding a beer, no one would give a shit! What he's doing is actually LESS harmful! And why IS it still illegal?!? It was legal during the '20s while alcohol wasn't, and the reason they re-legalized alcohol is because it was just to widespread and to continue to have the laws the way they were would be to criminalize a ridiculously large segment of the population (including the lawmakers and enforcers themselves). Instead the legitimized it, taxed it, and profitted from it, and they continue to do so. The current marijuana situation is exactly the same!!

  3. I heard now they're yanking some of Phelps' sponorships. That's comPLETE BS!!! The sherrif's talking about arresting him for "letting people down". "F" those people!! If that's how they feel about it, I think that maybe Mister Phelps should become a naturalized citizen of Holland and win THEM a few dozen medals next olympics!! I'll still cheer for him!

  6. I agree with Prometheus; if the same thing had happened in the 20s, Phelps would be straight.....unless he was photographed having a beeeeer! (shocked expression) By the way, why do they call you Prometheus?

  7. I also agree with Prometheus. This situation is almost exactly like it was in the 20s. In fact, legalizing and taxing alcohol sales are one of the things that helped get us of of the depression. If we legalized and taxed marijuana sales in this country it would really really help us out. Plus it could be regulated and more effectively kept out of the hands of minors as well as monitored for quality and purity.

  8. You know, when you try to point out how relatively harmless pot is, then people jump to that "gateway drug" argument. First of all, it is biochemically impossible for one substance to give you an addiction for another, so weed WILL NOT make you a crackhead..period! Point number two is that one of the reasons that people who smoke weed move on to other things is the people that they have to come in contact with to get it. Since it's illegal, the same guys who sell it are the same guys with the coke, pills, meth, shrooms and what-have-you; that's when someone gives your daughter a bag of yayo and says "try this out. this time it's free."

  9. If weed was sold at liquor stores, and the same rules governed it's sale, I think that would go a long way toward keeping kids away from harder drugs.

  11. There was a thing on the news about Mendocino county California. Two thirds of the places' economy is pot. The police can't even do any thing because they'd arrest themselves right out of a job and a home. It's big business, and it was mandatory to grow it in this country up til the thirties. I don't know what happened. If we start growing it here legally again, we can make "made in the USA" mean something again, as well as create thousands of jobs and stop deforestation.

  12. I assume that he was smoking it to have fun. If you can't have any fun after winning a gazzillion medals or achieving anything noteworthy, what's the point of achievement?

  13. If weed is so horrible and riuns your life howcome all of the people who are living the kind of lives I want to smoke it? Don't smoke weed kids!! You won't be able to be anything more than a hollywood moviestar, rapper, pro athlete or president!! How limiting.

  14. In order to de-legalize it in the 1930s the press told the white voting population that black musicians were smoking it to come up with music that made white women want to sleep with them. It was outlawed like the next day. he funny thing is 80 years later, we're still using it to come up with music that makes white women want to sleep with us(haw!)!
