Natural vs. Letting Yourself Go

Hellooooo,
Welcome to keep it real Wednesday!! :) *applause* lolz
As always but especially on Wednesdays >_> I would like to keep it real. Today I am gonna have to talk about being natural as opposed to letting oneself go. Apparently there is a bit of confusion. Being more natural should mean cutting back on products with chemicals and processed foods. You know like maybe using a lotion that has shea butter as opposed to a chemical potion loaded with stuff that you can barely pronounce. Or perhaps not eating microwaved food and buying organic groceries. Many people who choose to live a more simple, natural and healthy lifestyle even avoid certain clothing. For example: clothing that most people buy is full of harsh chemical dyes and pesticides, so some people prefer to buy organic clothes or hand made and "natural dye" pieces. For some being natural and intune with oneself may even mean wearing a certain hairstyle oh I dunnooo *kicks a pebble with toe* maybe a style like Locks A.K.A Dred Locks.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the things listed above. All of the things listed above are NATURAL and perfectly okay. However there is a problem with the things listed below:
1. Unkempt Locks A.K.A Dreds (or anyother hairstyle)
2. Not wearing a deodorant (NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO SMELL YOU!) >:0
3. Homely raggedy insufficient clothes
4. Substituting chemical heavy soaps with no soap at all!!!!!
5. Believing that part of being natural includes not bathing regularly!!!
6. Unkempt feet..this is NOT Natural! it is irresponsible and a reflection of poor hygiene
7. Thinking that NATURAL = Poor Hygiene...it doesn't!!!

These things listed directly above are unacceptable if anyone out there is just plain not grooming themselves and calling it being natural they r DURTY!!! and they need to go to jail!!! Number one is the main problem that inspired me to talk about this. Anyone who is choosing to wear locks should be especially meticulous about their personal upkeep. Anyone who didn't choose to wear locks and are wearing them: You are DURTY and you need to go to jail!

But back to the people with locks. People with locks have been discriminated against for so long, and many people do not like that hairstyle because they specifically think that it is indicative of poor hygiene. Of course this is not necessarily true. There are people that keep their locks so beautiful=always re twisted, always fresh, always moisturized, always looking healthy and nice ends, No doo doo dollops, and they always smell good.

F.Y.I doo doo dollops=*lmao* from when the locks is starting to thin in the middle and needs to be trimmed, don't front! you've seem them...pssh you might have them! lol

Unfortunately, there are also people who do not maintenance their locks regularly and it shows!!! Some people (Ima have to put 99% of the DMV on BLAST!!) are walking around with locks that haven't been re twisted in months ..or more. Some are definitely not even washing their locks. *smh* Please regulate this problem.

Allow me to clarify topic number two. Even if for personal reasons you choose not to wear deodorant, you should find some kind of way to control your body odor or at least keep it to a minimum i.e. a soap that works for you etc. F.Y.I there are more natural products that can be used as a deodorant in place of traditional pharmacy bought deodorants such as: a bar deodorant from Lush= my favorite store.

As far as clothing goes being natural is no excuse for looking bummy. You can be natural and fly. If you choose to go the natural route you should understand that its gonna be more expensive. This is not a reason to stop investing in your appearance all together.

You can find natural soaps, cleansers or whatever to clean with. Regardless to what path in life you take bathing should be a required routine. Keeping your feet looking like feet is also important. Walking around with totally neglected feet that look like they died last year but you are still using them - is not wise ... it is not spiritual its gross and its poor hygiene and ultimately irresponsible you can get rele bad infections from poorly maintained feet.

Natural does not = DURTY...Natural = Healthy...Durty does not = Healthy..you see how this can't work. okay so until next time take a shower and uhh eat something organic.

Talk to you soon!
